matching white gold wedding bands
Will my engagement ring match the wedding band?

I have a very beautiful solitaire engagement ring with a platinum band. Platinum, however, is outrageously expensive. My finance has already spent a ton on the engagement ring and I would hate for a ton to be shelled out on wedding bands as well. Would it be possible to just get a white gold wedding band, or would it not match?

You can get a white gold band, they’ll look almost exactly the same. But after a while depending on your skins acidity the white gold will start to turn a bit yellow, so they’ll just have to rhodium plate it. Though it’s NOT good to wear platinum against any other metal. If you’re going to chose two different metals, make SURE you solder them together. Then the platinum won’t ware on the gold. I used to work in a jewelery store and we would always make sure the women knew that the gold will ware away quite fast unless you have them soldered together. So make sure you solder them.
